Your Instructor
I have been showcalling for more than 25 years on everything from small conferences to arena concerts across the UK and worldwide.
I think of showcalling as the story you and the client have created that you want to tell to the audience and I work with the narrative of my showbook to support you with this.
My theatre background gave me a way of thinking about live events. Over 20 years including the National Theatre, the Old Vic, the Young Vic and as Company Manager for Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre.
Storytelling is at the heart of both theatre and event showcalling. The core discipline is the same, the tools are different but the intention remains consistent. This thinking is at the heart of these courses and the primary method by which I teach.
I work with production companies including Aspect, Imagination, Jack Morton, 2 Degrees Below, BCD, Bray Leino, GSMA for Cue to Cue, Brightfive, Emota, Top Banana and many more. End clients across the spectrum of pharmaceutical, Banking, Big Tech and Government with shows from AGM's to Awards, from Hair Shows to the Tour De France.
I have called and company managed shows working with performers, musicians, musical directors and choreographers and with live broadcast and TV recordings including showcalling the 25th Anniversary Concerts of Les Misérables at the O2 and Phantom of the Opera at the Albert Hall.
Alongside these courses I run live Zoom training sessions as a practical follow-up to the online courses and I offer team training to event companies in their offices.
